OAKS AND PINES

Rules and guidelines of the game

The Oaks and Pines role-play game although set in the present allows players to experience life in a traditional English girls school of the late 1960’s, early 1970’s. The girls are subject to a strict discipline which includes corporal punishment and where misbehaviours are dealt with swiftly.

Prospective players must be willing to make a continuing commitment to play the game. An example for an acceptable minimum commitment would be attending at least one class and writing three posts each week. Exceptions may of course be made for real life reasons. Posts must be at least five sentences long. One or two line posts are forbidden.

Remember, there is plenty of help and advice from experienced members

General guidelines :

1.   Members must be at least 21 years of age.

2.   Using under age pictures is strictly prohibited.

3.   No references to BDSM or enemas, we do not permit such play.

4.   All relationships between students and teachers are to remain strictly scholastic.

5.   Girls are permitted to create boyfriends, best and easier if they come from the Residence du Lac, a neighboring boys boarding school. Girls may play sex with their boyfriends as long as it remains in good taste. If in doubt, best to request help from an experienced player.

6.   No player is required to participate in a play in which they have not previously agreed.

7.   Teachers cannot punish students for offences that have not initially signaled in a contribution. For example, if a girl wants to make a mess of her homework she will have to post doing just that, or if she wants contraband to be discovered she must first describe hiding it.

8.   Posting of OOC (Out Of Context) communications to our O&P list are to be restricted to a bare minimum.

9. mIRC appointments with teachers are to be discussed using private email addresses.

10.   A role-playing game is like theater – you see it all, you know it all, but you have to be careful before using what you know. You can’t use what you haven’t actually witnessed.

11.  To establish your character and identify your own personal preferences and limits, you may e-mail your teachers privately.

12.  No reposting of any O&P posts to other lists.

And finally, HAVE FUN !

Apply To Oaks and Pines

Oaks and Pines is using IRC for all classes and “study scenes”. IRC is a network of servers used for online chat.
We are on the server Newnet, the room would be #Tanakastudy for a meeting with me, or #Oaksandpines for classes.
If you are not familiar with IRC, the easiest way to access it is a web-based client like Mibbit, as it requires not download or setup.

On the mibbit page, click “Launch Mibbit Client”. Open the dropdown menu under connect and search for “Newnet”. If it’s not there, click “server” and enter “irc.newnet.net”, then enter a nickname and the Channel #Tanakastudy and click “connect”. The chatroom will open in another tab. For classes, you’d enter #Oaksandpines in the Channel field.

There are other IRC clients with more options – just google “IRC client”.
The one I am using is called mIRC.

If you decide to go with mIRC right away, here’s a screenshot of the setup in mIRC:

Click on the “options” icon I circled above and go to connect – Servers. “Description” and “Group” are just names, the actual data is the IRC Server and the Port. Once this is set you can connect to the server by going to “Connect” in the options, choosing a nickname and clicking “connect”.

Once connected you can join a room by typing /join [Roomname], e.g. /join #Tanakastudy to join the room #Tanakastudy in the text field of the status window

This will open a new window with the chatroom. This may seem like a huge effort for a chat, but as I said, we’re using IRC for all classes and “study scenes”, so it’s well worth it.
Looking forward to meeting you 🙂
